Prompt: Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

 Prompt Response: One of my biggest questions that I have is whether Aliens are real. I think that they are real and have traveled to earth before, but the government isnt telling us. I feel like there isnt a clear answer and its so fascinating to me. Another question that I have is how the Earth was created and how us as people really came to be. I feel I never have been told how the earth was made and how life was formed on earth.


Summary: Today we planed out or origin myths and started to write the myths. We are using prior knowledege about the myths we read to create our own storyline.


Reflection: I learned how to craft and write an origin myth based off of myths that we read prior.

 Prompt Response: I remember hearing the word brigand in a movie I watched a while ago. The characters mentioned it while they were traveling somewhere that seemed a little unsafe. They didn’t clearly explain what a brigand was, but the way they said it made it sound like someone to avoid. The scene showed them looking around nervously, which made me think the person was trouble. Even without a definition, I could tell it meant someone who might cause harm. Hearing the word used in that moment helped me understand it better than just reading it in class. Summary: We completed new vocabulary. Reflection: I learned new vocabulary words.

Prompt: Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

  Prompt Response:   One time, I was walking downtown with my friend when we passed a man sitting on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign. He looked tired and cold, and I could tell he had been out there for a while. He wasn’t asking for much, just a little help, but my first instinct was to feel a bit uneasy. At the same time, I felt bad for him because it’s hard to imagine being in that position, having to rely on strangers for anything. It made me realize how quickly things can change for anyone, and it left me thinking about how we often overlook people who are struggling, even if they’re right in front of us. Summary: We read a new part of a story.  Reflection:  I learned a new part of the story.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

 Prompt Response: Something I've always been curious about is living in space. Growing up, I would wonder how astronauts sleep, eat, and even walk around in space since it lacks gravity. I've watched them floating around in the space station on videos, and it just doesn't seem real. I imagine looking out the window and seeing Earth from above, and it would probably feel both amazing and a little scary. I’ve always thought about how different life would be up there and what it would feel like to leave everything behind and explore the unknown. It’s something that has always stuck in my mind and made me want to learn more about space. Summary: We completed a paragraph to argue for our claim that we made on Wednesday using evidence and reasoning. Reflection: I learned how to format a argumentative paragraph.
