Prompt: After reading Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Constantly Risking Absurdity," which explores the poet's daring craft, write about your most absurd personal experience. Describe a single, specific incident that felt ridiculously bold or foolish. Ensure your response is vivid, concise, and captures the essence of absurdity.

Prompt Response: One incident where I made a bold decision was when I was in a match with my friends at the golf course. We decided to play a two-on-two on two, and on the line was a blizzard from Dairy Queen paid by the losing team. After a costly triple bogey to put us down four in the match, I knew I had to change something dramatic in my swing to help my team to victory. As the round went on, I felt that I was hitting the ball better when I would shift my weight forward more. This helped dramatically as we were able to tie it up on the last hole to force a playoff. I ended up hitting the green to win the match, and it was one of the best comebacks I had ever pulled off.

Summary: Today in class, we analyzed a new poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, which compared acrobats to authors.

Reflection: I learned how authors can be compared to acrobats, as well as a new style of writing that I had never seen before.
