Prompt Response: I think that I have grown in this course, as I have learned a lot of things that I would have never learned. I enjoyed the discussion we had in class, as it was very interesting and engaging. I also enjoyed the projects that we did, as we got to use our own knowledge and creativity at work. I think I connected with the poerty the most because the poems that we read appeled to a lot of senses and emotions and I thought thats what made it interesting. I felt like I needed additonal support or improvement on the writable assignments because I felt like we didnt have a lot of time on them and I thought they were graded very harsh. Summary: We only did our blog post. Reflection: I did the new blog post.
Prompt: Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).
Prompt Response: One tradition that is important to my family would be handing out presents. We've been doing this for as long as I can remember, and it has been a great memory of my childhood. It doesn't matter as much anymore because for me it's not as much about the presents but more about hanging out with family and enjoying quality time. Prompt Response: The holidays have changed as I have gotten older because now the holidays are more about spending time with family, whereas before it was more about the presents and Santa Claus. I think that it is better now because the holidays have a better meaning and make me more grateful for what I have. Although I miss believing in Santa and leaving out carrots for the reindeer, I have learned that the holidays are a time to spend time with family and enjoy quality time. Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.
Prompt Response: Something that I have outgrown but still miss would be playing recess football. The memories and friends I made playing recess football are beyond anything else. I can remember every day in elementary school looking forward to recess. I can remember scoring game-winning touchdowns and celebrating with my friends. I know that I have outgrown recess, but the memories I made during recess were beyond any other time in my life. Summary: We took a test on the vocabulary and read a new poem. Reflection: I learned a new poem.
Prompt: Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.
Prompt Response: I can't stop thinking about my future and where I am going to go to college. This is always on my mind and is what motivates me to do my work. I know that I want to go to the University of Georgia, but it's a very hard school to get into. All the what-if scenarios are playing through my head constantly, and put a lot of pressure on me. I know that if I stay true to who I am, then only good things will happen. Summary: In class, we read and analyzed a new poem. Reflection: I learned the new poem we read.
December 9th Cultural identity mask
Reflection: This is my cultural mask, and today in class, we presented it. I put the things that made me who I am today, and that was why I enjoyed doing this project.
